Colour Me Black

Colour me Black

Colour me black,
For days dark and void.

Colour me black,
In the depths I crawl
No hope, no feelings
Numbness surrounds.
Black velvet on white satin sheets,
A heart turned grey
In shattered hopes and dreams.

Where is the sun?
In shadows now I hide
Don't touch me or speak
In silence I am bound.

Colour me black,
The cold hard to bare
Shattered loves and broken hearts,
No feelings left to spare.
Where is the world that I belong?
Amongst the ruins of my heart
Grey stone, white moon,
The droplets from an eye.
Beware, take care
Anger I cannot hide.

Lost and cheated in hell I roam,
This world so bare
I cannot call my own.
Mocking laughs and aching smiles
Eyes that see all
Yet nothing stays the same
Cobwebs clinging to an empty cave.

Super-heroes of love and war
But who do they really save?

Colour me black,
For days gone by
For rivers flown
The seas I've cried.
A gaping hole
A yawning mouth
Colours fade from north to south.

Colour me black,
The beast is near
His heart beat I can hear
With open arms I call him near
And in his darkness,
I disappear...........
